Book Club: The Crown, Season One Even in the crazy hustle and bustle of my weeks, I try to make time to get some reading in. And even if its only 15 minutes on my train ride to work, my day is always better. And recently I have become obsessed with my current book, "The Crown: The Official Companion, Volume 1: Elizabeth II, Winston Churchill, and the Making of a Young Queen (1947-1955)" I love the tv show "The Crown" and when I found out there was a book, I HAD to have it. The book, written by Robert Lacey who works as a Royal Historian, breaks down each episode of the first season into chapters. In these chapters he walks you through even more details that were not brought to life in the show. He also lets you know what was over dramatized and what actually did or did not happen. (honestly, most of it is real though!)One of my favorite things about this book is how they put some of the photos from the tv show next to the real photographs. The show really does an incredible job matching everything in the originals. Down to the designs on the clothes and hairstyles it's all identical. For someone who likes the show, this book is mesmerizing and full of so much more information! It's hard for me to put it down! But if you don't enjoy the show or British history then this book is not for your book club. ps. I shopped out my morning here for you guys. The french bulldog mug also comes as a corgi mug. And you know how much the queen would love that you were drinking your tea from a mug with a corgi on it.
